Among the authentic items demonstrating China's cultural history are hand selected "mud silk" jackets. These jackets are made from silk infused with minerals and the anti-fungal essence of rhizome juice. Light weight and subtly patterned, this fabric, also known as Xiangyunsha was highly-valued during China's dynastic period.

Xiangyunsha is a unique kind of silk because it is crease-proof. The Xiangyunsha manufacture process is purely manual, and altogether needs 14 working procedures. First, the silk is soaked in a plant rhizome fluid juice unique to Guangdong, and then soaked under the sunlight for 30-40 hours.

Xiangyunsha, which has a history of more than 1,000 years, is just like fine wine: the longer it is preserved, the better it gets. No matter how much you rub your hands on the fabric, it does not get wrinkled.

Because it is unusual, Xiangyunsha has been the most expensive variety of silk in China’s history.

Xiangyunsha, which first appeared in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), is a purely organic fabric and is cool, easy to wash, quick to dry and does not stick to the skin.

The method of producing Xiangyunsha has been placed on the non-tangible cultural heritage list by Luohu District Government.
